Miss Baker Memorial

May 28th is the 48th anniversary of Miss Baker's historic flight into space. Miss Baker, a squirrel monkey, was the first u.s. animal to fly in space and return alive. Visitors to her memorial at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center often leave banannas atop her monument. Bob Gathany photo.,
